I was born and raised in Berkeley, California. I received my undergraduate education at Brandeis University outside of Boston and then spent a year working for the International YMCA in Colombia. I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Fordham University in New York City and trained at several top medical centers during my time there, including Bellevue Hospital and St. Luke’s - Roosevelt Hospital. I moved back to California in 2014 and completed both my pre-doctoral general psychology internship and post-doctoral residency in Interprofessional Integrative Health at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. I currently serve as the director of the Substance Use Disorders Clinic at the downtown Los Angeles VA.
Outside of work, I enjoy relaxing with my family, playing basketball, and spending time in the mountains. I love to hike and ski, and the photographs on the website are from various backcountry expeditions, many here in the Southern California region.
